about this home's

Traditional and Contemporary merge beautifully in this spacious Claremont Pines home.  Extensively & thoughtfully reimagined inside & out by the current owners, this is light filled home exudes warmth & style.

The homes stunning features begin before you even enter the home!  All new Boral siding was installed on the home’s exterior and painted with Sherwin William’s Emerald paint. New copper flashing was installed along the driveway bridge.  New exterior lighting, including landscape lighting, was included in the exterior project which also includes a 1” cedar front fence, implementation of a Terremoto Landscape design which predominantly includes native California drought resistant plants and new, locally sourced hardscape materials all in the front. A new retaining wall and Borrego drought-resistant grass in the back garden create a wonderful play space!

The home has stunning pale hardwood floors throughout the main level which combined with the voluminous ceilings and plethora of windows, give the home an airy and light feeling throughout. The Formal Living Room with picture window perfectly framing the front garden and wood-burning fireplace with stunning Petra stone surround, flows seamlessly into the Formal Dining Room. The Formal Dining Room is conveniently adjacent to the updated eat-in kitchen.  Form and function merge in this chef’s kitchen. Cooking will be a delight with your Wolf double ovens and Wolf range with remote control downdraft vent.  The additional (prep) sink allows you and your sous chef to easily work together.  Honed Carrera countertops complete the stunning room.

The kitchen overlooks the Great room with gas fireplace.  It is the perfect bonus room for family and entertaining!

A half-bath is just conveniently located just beyond the Great room.

An en-suite bedroom completes the main level –this room is ideal as a guest room, den, office or au-pair suite.

Soft, wool carpeting brings you upstairs and is installed throughout the Upper Level.

The Upper level includes three comfortable-sized bedrooms, including a luxurious Primary suite with stall shower, sunken tub with jets, double sinks, water closet and enviable walk-in closet.  The additional two bedrooms have lovely outlooks of the front garden and share a spacious full bathroom with shower over tub and double sinks.  The Laundry room, with cabinetry, completes this wing of the floor.  The interior access from the two-car garage is conveniently also on this level.

The home also enjoys the benefit of air conditioning (two zones), Nest thermostats, hardwired Nest smoke detectors, new interior lighting and window covering throughout.

119 Beechwood Drive

Nestled between Prime Rockridge and Upper Rockridge is one of Oakland’s most desirable and exclusive neighborhoods, Claremont Pines. The land comprising the neighborhood (approximately 51 acres) was initially purchased in 1909 by Mr. Philip E Bowles to build a home for himself and his wife.  Their home (The Pines Estate) was built in 1910 on what is now Bowling Drive. In  October of 1927, a year after Phillip Bowles died,  Mrs. Bowles sold the entire estate including the 51 acres to the York Company, Inc.  All but the home was subdivided into a new subdivision which we now call Claremont Pines. The homes subsequently built throughout the 1920s – 1950s were primarily stately Traditional and Spanish homes.  Several of the residences were rebuilt following the 1991 Oakland Hills fire. Acacia Avenue residents worked together to ensure the beauty of their street would be maintained with the new construction post-fire. In general, the homes in Claremont Pines are sited on larger parcels with lawns, terraced gardens and many enjoy stunning Bay Views. All views are unobstructed by any wiring since the neighborhood undergrounded wiring after the 1991 fire. Its streets are all residential and distinguished by the old fashioned street lamps.

A local grocery, the Village Market, serves the neighborhood. Terrace Cafe is a neighborbood gem for breakfast or lunch - or coffee to go! Claremont Country Club is just blocks away. You are just minutes away from more extensive shopping and dining options in nearby Rockridge.

Claremont Pines offers an easy commute into San Francisco via the Rockridge Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station, as well as access to the University of California, Berkeley Campus. The AC Transit SF and local bus line stops are also nearby.

Near top-rated private schools & zoned for top-rated K-8th Hillcrest (not guaranteed).
